Volunteers and Placements

Thank you for your interest in being involved with SKETCH. We recognize the tremendous contribution that volunteers and placements make to SKETCH, and seek to create meaningful, clear and valuable roles for people chosen to be part of our community. Below are general outlines of the processes for becoming a volunteer or placement at SKETCH.

Volunteer Process
If you are interested in becoming a SKETCH volunteer, please download the application package and fill it out as completely as possible. Submit it with a resume by dropping it off or emailing it.

When received, your application is processed by the Operations Administrator and, depending on your areas of interest and skill, your application will be passed off to the appropriate staff member.

We will respond to all volunteer applications, but please allow us a few weeks to do so. If we find a fit between your interests and our needs, you may be interviewed and/or placed in a volunteer position. Where there is no immediate fit, you will be given the option of remaining on our roster to be contacted in the future with volunteer opportunities.

Please be advised that it can take months to begin volunteering after you have submitted your application because of the volume of applications we receive. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Download Volunteer Application Package here or drop by SKETCH to fill one out.

Placement Process
SKETCH has had placements and co-op students from a variety of institutions to date. To begin your request to complete a placement or practicum at SKETCH, please download the application and submit it with a resume.

Currently, placements are considered on a case by case basis and obtaining a position at SKETCH is non-competitive. All applications will be responded to, and if there is a good fit between the student’s needs and skills, the school’s requirements and our own capacity, then applicants will be contacted for an interview. Preference is given to latter year students. Please apply as much in advance as possible for a placement position.
