Blundstone's Boot It UP!
Thursday, September 27th 2007

We have done it! On Thursday September 27th, 2007 we booted, we boogied and
we raised money to the tune of more than $25,000. All the proceeds raised
from the 4th Annual Blundstone's Boot It UP! will be used to support SKETCH
programs. There are many people to thank for the success of this event
including the 14 dedicated members of the committee who have been meeting
and jamming out ideas to kick the experience up a notch! THANK YOU ALL!!
This year we also enjoyed our new partnership with the Bata Shoe Museum. It
was an exciting opportunity for us and for all the artists to have their
boots displayed for a week before the event in such a well-known and loved
venue. We had more people, more press and raised more money than ever
before. We are grateful to all our sponsors that truly helped make this
possible including TD Securities, Research Capital, Lindt/Sprungli (Canada)
Inc., Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLB. and JD Smith & Associates. A special
thank you to Gripworks Inc. and Type A Print for donating all the print
work. SKETCH talent jumped out of the studio to warm up the crowds before
the auction. Boonna Mohammed, Emcee and Jay Mandarino, Auctioneer, did an
incredible job at gathering the attention of the crowd to participate
throughout the evening. A huge thanks to Tool Girl, Mag Ruffman for taking
everyone through the process of creating boots on-site and having them
auctioned for SKETCH Ð you rock Mag! Finally, to Tim Stacey and Ian Heaps of
the Australian Boot Company who continue to be so generous to us and the
community through this partnership. We are forever grateful. And
congratulations to Mr. John Andrachuck for winning the raffle prize of a
trip for 2 to Mexico. Addios amigo!

Community Feast
November 27th, 2005
Once a year, SKETCH invites all the participants and supporting
community to gather together and share in the biggest spread of nourishing
goodness. This includes painting, shadow puppets, cookie decorating, music
and of course a 10-foot spread of absolutely every kind of food one could
imagine. Everyone enjoys all the delectables while meeting up with friends and
family. They are able to enjoy a performance or the artwork being displayed and perhaps
make a purchase or two while theyÕre at it! It is a lot of hard work to clean
up the studio and make room for this popular event, but it is so worthwhile.
This year we had the help of many participants who came in over the weeks before
helping to clean, clear out junk and set up for the event.
We want to thank everybody who came with food, volunteered their time and made the feast
such a memorable community experience. We enjoy having the opportunity to open
the doors and celebrate with everyone. It is because of this kind of community
support and effort that SKETCH exists Š your labor and help keep us all
going!

each of you and hope to see not only at next years event but perhaps at
various exhibits and celebrations throughout the year!

ages came to toss boots, bid on boots and dance away to a live band playing
disco funk. It was high energy and enjoyed by over 500 people. We are very
grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the
evening’s events. We especially want to thank Ian Heaps and Tim Stacey from
Blundstone who put so much of their time and energy into making it happen!! In
addition to the evening’s wonderful ambiance, 40 pairs of boots were taken by
artists and arted up and made available for a live and silent auction by so

Do Something with a Blundstone 2004
October 1st, 2004

SKETCH partnered with Blundstone Footwear to create an event of great art, music and celebration! Held at the Steamwhistle Brewery, people of all ages came to toss boots, bid on boots and dance away to a live band playing disco funk. It was high energy and enjoyed by so many. We are very grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the evening’s events. We especially want to thank Ian Heaps and Tim Stacey from Blundstone who brought the idea to us and put so much of their time and energy into making it happen!! In addition to the evening’s ambiance, 60 pairs of boots were taken by artists and ‘arted up’ and made available for a live and silent auction. The boots were astounding and the most thrilling part of the whole event! It was truly a coming together of a corporation, a not-for-profit and a generous group of local and profile artists. One contributor shared that she had not painted in several years and that this opportunity had “given me back my sense of artistry”. To all involved we thank you for your beautiful contributions and making the night a “bootiful thing”!!!
