INVEST IN THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF THE ARTS FOR HOMELESS AND MARGINALIZED YOUTH

Donate

SKETCH sees a movement where young people are celebrated and engaged as culture makers, perception changers, and collaborators in building creative community.

Through the arts, young people enhance their resilience and capacity to live well and lead social change in the world.

We provide spaces and support for youth to find joy, rest, stimulation, learning, friends, relationships, and referrals to services.

Why Support SKETCH

Art Transforms

Health and Wellness

Youth gain access to nutritious food, movement and mindfulness programs, referrals for health care, coping strategies for mental health challenges, and a community of peer support. Arts are an essential part of mental health support.

Equity and Inclusion

Young people who identify in lots of different ways are welcomed, included and affirmed for their unique contributions as they make Art. SKETCH is committed to challenging, addressing and reducing systemic barriers, stigmas and oppressions, reaching out to diverse communities, ensuring anti-oppression and harm reduction, and working towards transformative justice.

Education

SKETCH supports youth to choose their own learning journeys, connects them to formal and informal education and creates unique ‘accreditation’ or recognition processes with education partners. We help translate skills learned for the workforce, offer first-time employment experiences, and support youth to build creative enterprise or self-employment in the arts.

Community Leadership

SKETCH offers youth a way to find new purpose and agency by supporting them to navigate systems and resources, connect with peers and adult allies, discover their gifts, and train as leaders in arts activism, facilitation and community development.
